The report aims to provide an outline and approach for drafting a potential National Adaptation Plan (NAP) for India. It is an output of extensive review of policies, plans, national communications and analytical reports of national and State climate actions on climate change especially on adaptation in India. While several reports at national and State government have defined what adaptation and resilience building could encompass, an overarching Adaptation Action Plan for the country is an imperative to provide guiding direction towards geographical and functional areas that need attention and investments.
This report presents a comparative analysis of the National Adaptation Plan (NAP) processes implemented by Bangladesh, Brazil, Germany, South Africa, and Sri Lanka.
