Indo-German Solutions for Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment

This study examines how India and Germany can strengthen cooperation on gender equality and women’s empowerment under the Indo-German Green and Sustainable Development Partnership (GSDP). Focusing on agroecology and food systems, sustainable urban development, and renewable energy, it analyses policy priorities, stakeholder landscapes, and existing initiatives in both countries to identify areas of alignment and opportunities for future collaboration. The study highlights the central role of women’s economic empowerment, leadership, skills development, and access to resources in advancing sustainable development outcomes, and provides practical recommendations for scaling impact through stronger women-led networks, improved gender-responsive data systems, capacity building, and inclusive approaches to the green transition.
